Candler Movers

An Asheville crew covering Candler and the rest of Western NC.

Moving in Candler, NC

Candler is the community just west of Asheville along Smokey Park Highway (US-19/23) and Patton Avenue, roughly 15 minutes from downtown out toward Pisgah National Forest. It is rural and spread out — Hominy Valley, Enka, and the foothill drives off Newfound and Pisgah Highway give it a country feel even though it is a short hop from West Asheville. We run Smokey Park Highway and the back roads of Hominy Creek regularly, so the long gravel drives and the climbs toward Pisgah are familiar territory for our crew.

Our Candler moves

Much of the work here is people leaving the city for more land, families settling in the Enka and Hominy Valley areas, and longtime residents moving within Candler. Rest Easy does it all directly — our 8 trucks, our uniformed W-2 movers, no subcontracting. Wesley is a Buncombe County native who built the company in 2015 so the west-side communities would have a mover that actually turns up, and our crew brings that to every Candler job.

Local moves are $139/hr for two movers and a truck, with pads, dollies, and tools built into the rate; $195/hr adds a third mover for bigger or stair-heavy loads. A studio typically lands in the $400–$580 band and a 3-bedroom $1,740–$2,560. We provide the written estimate before move day per North Carolina law, and a $150 deposit holds the date and applies to the total. Our NCUC certificate and US DOT/MC authority stay current for anything crossing a state line, like the quick I-26 run to Greenville SC, for example.

The rural roads off Pisgah Highway are narrow and winding, and the long private drives out here demand the right truck size, so we scout access before move day instead of finding out at the curb. Tell us what you have and where it is going and we will set a plan and a price you can rely on.

Candler Reviews

★★★★

“Just needed muscle to load a trailer out in Leicester. Two guys, hourly labor at $139, no minimum equipment charge. They were quick and stacked it tight. Started about fifteen minutes late because of ice on the back roads, which honestly I would rather they drive slow than wreck. Good value.”

“Quick Woodfin apartment move. Booked Friday, moved Saturday. Honest hourly billing, friendly crew, zero damage. Easy.”

“Our Biltmore Forest house is full of antiques my wife inherited, and we were nervous handing them to anyone. The crew brought extra blankets and used a custom crate for a tall mirror. They took their time on the curving driveway and never bumped the brick columns at the gate. Four movers worked the whole day and the price stayed inside the quoted range. Every piece arrived without a mark. These are real pros who clearly do this for a living, not a couple of college kids with a borrowed truck.”

FAQ

Candler is pretty rural — will you still come out there?
Yes, regularly. Candler is about 15 minutes west on Smokey Park Highway and well inside our area. The long private drives in Hominy Valley are normal for us, and the rate and deposit are the same as an in-town job.
Our place is up a steep gravel drive toward Pisgah — can your truck handle it?
Often yes, and when it can't we plan ahead. We scout the access and pick the right truck size or arrange a shuttle before move day so the loaded truck is never stuck halfway up a Pisgah Highway grade.
We're moving from Candler down to Greenville, SC — can you do that?
We can. Greenville is a short run down I-26, and we hold US DOT/MC authority for interstate moves alongside our NCUC certificate. Our own crew loads in Candler and drives it across the line — no handoff to another company.
