Full-Service Packing in Asheville
Packing is the part of a move people underestimate, and then they’re up until 2am wrapping glasses in dish towels the night before the truck comes. Rest Easy Moving’s packing service hands that whole job to our crew. We bring the boxes, paper, bubble wrap, and tape, and we pack the house room by room so everything’s ready when the truck rolls up from the Grove Arcade. Wesley started this company in 2015 partly because the outfits he’d worked for treated packing as an afterthought — here it’s done right or not at all.
How a full pack works around here
We can pack the entire house or just the rooms you’d rather not deal with — the kitchen and the china cabinet are the usual suspects. Each box gets labeled by room so the unload makes sense, and fragile pieces get the wrapping they actually need. For the art that fills so many Asheville homes, especially anything bought in the River Arts District, we custom-pad canvases and pottery so a bumpy ride down a mountain road doesn’t turn a gallery piece into a loss claim. Packing runs on the same $139-an-hour, 2-mover rate, with the 3-mover crew at $195 when a big kitchen or a full house calls for the extra hands.
- Boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and tape supplied so you’re not running to the store
- Dish-pack cartons and cell dividers for stemware, china, and the cast iron everybody seems to own
- Custom padding for RAD art, framed canvases, and pottery that won’t survive a loose box
- Room-by-room labeling tied to a quick inventory so unpacking isn’t a guessing game
Good packing also makes the load safer for the drive. WNC roads are full of switchbacks and grades, and boxes that were thrown together loose will jostle the first time the truck takes a curve coming off the parkway or merges onto I-26. We pack tight and pad the fragile cartons so a bumpy mountain route doesn’t turn into a pile of broken glass at the other end.
You can add unpacking on the other end too, so the kitchen’s usable the first night instead of buried under a wall of cartons. A written estimate goes out before we start, as NC requires, and a $150 deposit holds your date. Standard coverage is $0.60 a pound with full-value optional. Call (888) 711-4778 to set up your pack.
