Long-Distance Moving from Asheville
When the move crosses a state line or runs the length of North Carolina, the truck that leaves your driveway in Asheville is the same truck, with the same crew, that pulls up at the other end. Rest Easy Moving carries US DOT and MC authority for interstate work on top of our NCUC household-goods certificate, so we don’t hand your shipment off to a stranger at a warehouse. Wesley’s people pack it, drive it, and unload it. Long-distance jobs start at $2,360 on a binding written quote, so the number you sign is the number you pay.
The corridors we run from the mountains
Most of our long-haul work follows two interstates out of the valley. I-40 carries shipments east toward Charlotte and Raleigh and west through the Pigeon River Gorge to Knoxville. I-26 drops south to Greenville and connects to the run toward Atlanta. We’ve made these drives in every season, which matters more here than on flat highway: fog settles thick on the parkway and the gorge, and winter can glaze the higher passes. We time departures around weather windows and around the October visitor traffic that backs up the I-240 connector.
A few of the routes we quote most often:
- Asheville to Charlotte, roughly 130 miles down I-40 to I-85, often a same-day delivery
- Asheville to Knoxville, about 115 miles west on I-40 through the Pigeon River Gorge
- Asheville to Greenville SC, around 60 miles south on I-26, one of our shortest interstate runs
- Asheville to Raleigh, near 245 miles straight across on I-40 to the Triangle
- Asheville to Atlanta or Nashville, the longer hauls at roughly 210 and 290 miles
Because it’s one crew start to finish, there’s no re-handling, no transfer terminal, and no waiting on a third party’s schedule. We give you a real delivery window and stick to it. Before the truck leaves we pad and tie the load so it rides solid through the curves coming off the mountains. A long-haul load that wasn’t stacked tight will shift the first time the truck takes a grade, and that’s how things get broken on the highway. Coverage runs up to $1,000,000 of cargo protection per shipment, with $0.60 a pound released-value as the standard and full-value protection if you want it. A $150 deposit locks the date and applies to your total. Call (888) 711-4778 for a binding quote on your route out of WNC.
